SMALL BUSINESS MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM for equipment purchases
Equip Harlingen is a small business matching grant program offered by the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) for new equipment purchases for businesses looking to expand their production capabilities. This grant encourages the retention and creation of jobs for business enterprises in the City of Harlingen, Texas to stimulate further economic activity. The program provides up to $4,000 in matching funds for each pre-approved purchase. No funds are provided up front.
Eligible commercial businesses may receive financial assistance for pre-approved equipment purchases made by August 31, 2027, subject to the terms of the grant and final approval from the HEDC Board of Directors and Harlingen City Commission. Program eligibility is discretionary and may be discontinued by the HEDC Board of Directors at any time or when the annual fund allocation is exhausted.
Pre-Approval Application
To determine if the equipment is eligible for grant funds, the equipment must be pre-approved by the Harlingen EDC staff prior to any purchase.
Funding Application
Once the pre-approved equipment is purchased, the business owner will need to apply for the Equip Harlingen grant funding. All application materials should be submitted on the application portal.
