HARLINGEN, TEXAS (September 2, 2025) — ConsultingPoint, Inc. (CPI), a resource manufacturer serving the Original Equipment Manufacturer industrial motor industry, has selected Harlingen as the site for its relocation and expansion, says Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (HEDC). The move marks a $2.1 million investment in the community and brings with it new jobs, growth, and momentum for the local economy.
Previously based in Brownsville, CPI’s relocation was driven by the need to transition from their prior facility. After an initial search in Brownsville without success, the company expanded its search and found a space near the Harlingen Industrial Park. The available site offered the size and infrastructure for their operational needs, while supporting the next phase of their development.
“We’re proud that Harlingen had everything that ConsultingPoint was looking for, and we’re excited to welcome them here,” said Orlando Campos, CEO of HEDC. “This expansion is a great example of how strategic site readiness, regional collaboration, and a low cost of doing business can help companies grow without having to look far from home.”
CPI’s new facility, located at 5221 East Harrison Avenue in Harlingen, includes 54,804 square feet of manufacturing space and will be remodeled to suit their specialized operations within a total footprint of 60,000 square feet. New construction will add administrative offices and a dedicated training facility to support employee development and onboarding.
The project is expected to create 67 new jobs over the next 3 to 5 years, while retaining 80 existing positions that will transition with the company. HEDC has worked closely with CPI to support a smooth transition and lay the groundwork for long-term success.
“We’re excited about this next chapter for our company,” said Joel Gonzalez, owner of CPI and a Harlingen resident. “The decision to relocate was not made lightly. We’re grateful for our previous home in Brownsville and the support we received over the years, but the space we found here in Harlingen fit exactly what we needed to keep growing. We’re looking forward to becoming part of the community.”
Founded in 2004, CPI manufactures industrial motors, generators, and components serving the wind power, hydro and turbo generation, mining, locomotive, and nuclear submarine propulsion systems.
