Harlingen EDC Website Gets New Data Tools

HARLINGEN, TEXAS (Nov. 11, 2021) – Since the launch of the new website at the beginning of 2021, the Harlingen EDC website has been improving. Several new features like videos, Choose Harlingen series updates, a job board, can already be seen when you hop on the home page.

Data and information play a big part in how we market our community. Having visuals and interactive data on our website helps those browsing find additional information to help make a decision about a property, business venture, development, relocation or expansion.

The Harlingen EDC recently worked with LocalIntel, a company that focuses on providing world-class technology to economic development organizations in order to make promoting Harlingen much easier.

The website now includes nine data tools, and all tools should be fully available by December 2021. The ones you can find now are: 

  • Logistics and Accessibility Advantages, that displays our connectivity throughout the region, state, country, and internationally by displaying airport, rail, road, port networks

  • Business and Investment Assistant tool that helps companies or business owners analyze industry trends

  • Market Advantages offers a quick overview of accessible local consumers that provides our audience with more information on our region’s consumers

  • Growth & Opportunities identifies paths of growth and dives deeper into incentives, such as Opportunity Zone and Tax Incentive Reinvestment Zones. This tool will be built out more and will include more details about infrastructure

  • Community Profile breaks down details on population, income, households, construction, and more

Tools that will soon be added will be a Quality-of-Life tool that will include more detailed information about our community such as our schools, parks, housing, and more. Also being added tools about our Fastest Growing Industries and Largest Industries. Tools like these help us create programs suitable for these industries in order to build up and prepare our workforce.
