Harlingen Boasts Low Cost of Living

Harlingen, Texas is located in South Texas and makes up part of the Brownsville-Harlingen MSA in Cameron County.

An attractive feature that draws both businesses and new residents to Harlingen is the low cost of living. According to the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER), Harlingen’s cost of living was nearly 20% lower than the average cost of living index among participating cities between 2010 and 2015.  In addition, Harlingen was named as the #1 Least Expensive place to live in the US between 2010 and 2014.
