Harlingen Labor Force Can Serve Nearly Every Industry

Harlingen, TX at one time was largely dependent on the agriculture industry. This isn’t true anymore. Harlingen has greatly diversified the types of businesses and work in the city. The health care industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in Harlingen and one of the sectors that employs the most workers.

Employment figures from the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Labor Market Review from June of 2016 indicate that Harlingen has a workforce of nearly 25,000.  The 5.3% unemployment rate is very favorable when compared to June of 2013’s 9.0% unemployment rate.  Still there is plenty of work to do, businesses to attract, and jobs to help create.
