Harlingen Wins SEDC Award

Harlingen, Texas, August 18, 2010 – The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) received an Award of Merit in the 2010 Marketing and Communications Awards Program of the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC). The awards were announced at the SEDC Annual Conference in New Orleans August 15-17.

 

 

The Harlingen EDC received the award for its 2009 Annual Report in the Large Organization Division of the awards program. Other organizations receiving awards included the Greater Richmond (VA) Partnership, the Bowling Green (KY) Chamber of Commerce, Upstate South Carolina Alliance, the Baton Rouge (LA) Area Chamber, the Greater Topeka (KS) Chamber of Commerce and Tulsa (OK) Metro Chamber.

 

 

In the 2009 Marketing and Communications competition, the HEDC won Awards of Merit for its direct mail campaign and tailored prospect presentations.

 

 

The Southern Economic Development Council is the largest and oldest regional organization for economic development professionals in the U.S. SEDC membership comes from 17 southern U.S. states. Bill Martin, chief executive officer of HEDC, served as chair of the board of SEDC in 1997.
