Harlingen, Texas, February 5, 2009 Aloe Laboratories, Inc., a vertically integrated aloe vera farming and processing company, has announced a decision to expand their Harlingen, Texas facility. With an investment in excess of $500,000, Aloe Laboratories will expand their facility by 20,000 square feet and will employ 16 additional full time positions within the next two years. The firm began operations in 2001 after constructing a 47,500 square foot processing facility in the Harlingen Industrial Park. Aloe Laboratories presently employs 60 full time employees at their facility located at 5821 East Harrison, Harlingen, TX. Aloe Laboratories, Inc. harvests the aloe leaves and processes them into a gelatinous emollient extract used in cosmetics, skin creams and customized health drinks. Aloe Laboratories, Inc. serves a global market and has seen a steady increase in overall sales resulting in 12 percent increases in 2006 and 2007. Aloe Labs expects a similar increase in 2009. “With this steady growth we find that our production capacities are nearing their limit and we have out grown our building,” said Luis Rodriguez, President of Aloe Laboratories, Inc. “With the assistance of the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) and the City of Harlingen, we are extremely happy to be able to expand our operations in Harlingen.
