The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) unveiled a new web site today, designed to attract corporate investment to Harlingen.
In unveiling the site, Armando Elizarde, Vice President of HEDC and President of Town and Country Homes in Harlingen, said, “Economic development is very competitive today and our new web site, www.harlingenedc.com, will allow us to compete on a global basis.”
“Most companies today look to the Internet in order to narrow their search for potential new locations,” according to Elizarde. “Our goal is to portray Harlingen as the positive, progressive and profitable community it is,” Elizarde continued.
The web site was designed by MPC Studios, a Harlingen-based web design firm. In addition to data from standard sources on a wide variety of topics like population, income, retail sales, workforce and taxes, the HEDC web site also features information that is only available locally, like major employers, available sites and buildings, recent news and current projects.
“We believe the new HEDC web site will be a tremendous resource for corporate site decision makers, site location consultants and realtors from around the world,” Elizarde concluded.
Harlingen, Texas is located at the “Crossroads of the Rio Grande Valley,” a gateway to international trade. The Valley has a population of 1.2 million in the United States and nearly 1 million in Matamoros and Reynosa in Mexico.
